TOWARD A NEW PARADIGM OF PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP
There are thousands of books, theories and gurus out there, talking about how children should be raised. Some of that stuff makes sense, although many are nothing more than confusing and contradictory products, focused more on sales than on actual help.
We do not want to add more to that confusion, so I will say just this:
Each parent and family has their own set of values, beliefs and expectations. Our focus is on working together with you to figure out what is appropriate for you and your children.
An excessively obedient child might internalize anger and express it in a passive-aggressive way. On the other hand, a child who does not learn appropriate containment and the value of limits, becomes confused, restless, irritable, angry and aggressive (does the expression "tyrant-child" ring a bell?). In either case, it is unlikely that children will become autonomous, successful adults without professional help.
